Santa's gift ---- a bull run in 20084 years of civil war, tens of millions lives lost, not to mention the economic loss. all these efforts to overthrow the 3 big mountains today seem so ridiculous as china now embraces capitalism with such ethusiasm.stock exchange, the symbolic of capitalism, demolished in 1949, is now one of the great achievements of china's open-up policy. when it was asia's the most sizeable stock exchange back in 1930s, both tokyo and hk stock exchange were non-existent at that time. ppl may wonder how great it could hv been, had it not been closed for some idealists' utopian dream.today, desipte the daily trading volume and the number of ipos, shanghai stock exchange remains a freak in essence. stock exchange should be an organic part of the mkt economy iso a tool for both soes and private companies to loot the ordinary households. neither should it be a casino for ordinary households to try their lucks. we've heard over and over that the reform of non-floating shares has attributed to the current mkt bull run but to me, this reform should rather have the opposite effect. those ppl who bought listed companies with non-floating shares definitely shouldn't get compensated for as they were fully aware the fact ex ante. especially the proceeds from the disposal of non-floating shares are to replensih the social security fund. this is a big shame for the govt. as it surrendered to the blackmailing from the minorities and sacrificed the benefit of the mass (the floating shreaholders are absolutely minority vis-a-vis the whole population).
