claimed itself to be the new mecca of clubs, this is a combi of all 'in'
elements for party animals, clubbers and  pool hall junkies. as a rule
of thumb for all 'in' place/ shanghai clubs, they have resident and flown
in dj from overseas every week. in addition to the usual dance floor
scene, rack's also has an enormous american pool section. a place
for fun believers.

personally i dont like the so called river food, ie, ‘seafood’ in fresh water.
been to 2 of them in nanjing, really dont feel any reason why i should
repeat this sort of meal again. as i was born and raised up on an island,
i dont quite find anything that could beat the smell of sea in seafood and
also the taste of iodine on your tongue, that is such an unique gourmet experience!
this time, it  was on biz entertainment/ mission to bring
an out of town guest here to have something really unique and place with
a view. so we landed on this boat by the yangtse river, having our dinner
at a room with a view. the food was quite ordinary, edible but nothing to
write home about. i guess on a clear day, the view could be pretty
impressive, but last night it was pitch dark you didnt see a thing.

this is definitely one of the eye popper of nj. i have been to many gay bars
around the world and this one look like a bit of kaohsiung and bangkok.
bit like kaohsiung in a sense it tells you there is a life for gays over 25,
you can be a happy gay till you are whatever you want to. that is statement
no 1. the second one is this has the most bangkok feel gay bars thru out
china. there are shows EVERY NIGHT， EVERY OTHER HOUR! and there
are some PRETTY GOOD LOOKING TRANNIES!
the two down sides are the quality of customers and the very disgusting toilets.

its a place of lifestyle, ie, u either belong here or you dont. one of the
top duck shop in town, and slightly better managed than the other
wild ducks. expect to pay tips of 500rmb before you want them to sit
down.

if you can get yourself booked at the room with the lake view, even the
food taste soso, the ambience is darlingly stunning to win any lover's heart!
it can easily be rated THE most romantic dining spot in nanjing!!
as another critic jjnet put all other perspectives very rightly below.
有情饮水饱 ...is here to linger!

another tiny place that can easily be missed, specially at night their
exterior light was so dimmed. it was recommended by one of my
canto chef friend, some decent surprises. good steam fish, nice mini
lobsters, even can get decent abalone and shark fin soup if order in
advance. good for small banqueting up to 6 tables

another all you can eat buffet restaurant. but this one is flanked by mainly japanese.
may be becoz its located in hq, the capital of shanghai extra
terrestrial inhabitants. good sushi and sake to go with, but not much
surprise thou. very full at 7pm on.

its not a cathedral, its not a monastery, in fact billions got murdered here!
its tad bit early to comment on service yet but this place originally built
by british architect balfor,as a pharmaceutical and food factories, the other
saying is it was a governmental slaughter house,  is a wonderful hidden
treasure for any architect or historical walk fans, wonder how these three
related thou. this place will embrace a museum, a designer street, a
designer hotel, fusion food, what else can deter the fashion victim to
not fuse it? and designer factory outlet. maybe they want  a place to
outshine/rival oxo tower of london.

interesting shopping environment, like in a small community type
ambience but not very good product mix in a not so good location.
the restaurants except the big groups like weiqian 味千
noodles or dq or latina, then you can expect some familiarity, otherwise
its a total disaster.

one of the most horrendous cantonese dining experience in shanghai.
run by honkie owner but everything was adapting to local taste that the
roasted goose was thin like roasted duck. i have to ask 2 times to get
it right it was a goose! the explanation was the shanghainese dont
like fatty stuff and preferred thin goose! to the best of my knowledge
shanghainese ate very greasy and oily food! the soup was salty and
full of msg, well this applied to other dishes. the steamed deep
sea fish 龙趸was so overcooked that you could only eat the skin. the
signature dish conch head in abalone sauce again was full of msg
and no abalone taste!
