I had expected an authentic American stlye burger, with juicy beef patty. Guess what? Never expect too much.It had been in a 'coming soon' status for months, and had always been on my wishing list (in my mind). So, today, I gave it a try.It was a weird place. Not like any other chained fast-food restaurant, its decoration was as simple/humble as a canteen（食堂）. No red color at all, not a single pic of their featured burger (even at the counter). I could choose from a hanburger, a cheese burger and a double burger by menu in black and white (absolutely no illustration).I opted for a cheese burger set priced at 40 kuai, indluding soft drink and fries. Every element of the burger failed, the patty, the bun, and salad dressing... but they did have fried onion, and the chesse was ok... I just didn't wanna have second bite (since I'm more critical about food...) And the fries disappointed me without failure, as plain as one created by my Mum. If you paid over 100 for a burger, you could probabaly enjoy sth made by imported beef, juicy...fat... This one, which cost me 40 kuai, turned out to be a totally failure, together with its ridiculous interior design.This place had attrated some English speaking patrons and me... Let's see, how long it could survive.

其实我都不太喜欢田子坊 老房子环境太逼囧 那陡峭的楼梯啊。。但是 田子坊就是有很多嗲店丹以咖啡著称 做日式家庭料理 菜单有点shabby... 翻了半天吃了明太子意面 很一般 然后拿铁 味道不错啦 奶泡细腻 我都没加糖 45块一杯好贵 我想再来一杯我不是提拉米苏的粉丝 没点是一个不错的喝咖啡地儿 食物就一般了FYI 他们不给刷卡 我说钱没带够。。而且没wifi

you never expect a (global) chained coffee brand can make some coffee that satisfies your palate.Saint Marc is known to be an established coffee brand from Tokyo. They are serving home-made croissants（巧酷乐）, donuts, ice cream desserts (parfait) as well as coffee. My latte was a little disappointing. I can tell from its loose foam that they were not using milk of high quality. And the signature pastry, 巧酷乐, is simply a croissant stuffed with chocolate, nothing to sing about, not worth my space of stomach.Let's say, it's a place more like Mister Donut （美仕唐纳滋） than a coffee shop. (they are offering take-away croissants in an adorable box just in the donut way, with discount I believe)Their open counter, cozy environment, welcoming service would all add values to this brand. And the guy who was making pastry had a clean and white face...looked like a Japanese guy(actually not I believe)...yeah...which would probably contribute to my rating...FYI wifi passwrod is saintmarc

田子坊 seems to be a safe choice when have no idea where to go...I remember 双 had mentioned this place, so we dropped in (at my recommendation).The waiter didn't allow us to go upstairs, and I heard that they were going to end business today at 7 pm(yes, in a day like 初二）.We meant to have dinner there. but after a glance over the one-page menu, (they are serving quite limited food, only 6 or 7 course, pasta things like...no meat dishes found, a vegetarian restaurant??), one suggested immediately, let's just have a drink, then transfer to a hot pot （火锅）spot.I opted for a bowl of latte. It was mild, and I can tell from the foam that they were using full-cream(or more) milk. My dinning partners ordered hot chocolate, looked like a Starbucks version. We shared one piece of cheese cake, which was just what a cheese cake should be.The coffee and cake were satisfying. But waiters were not very responding (maybe they were eager to go home to get together with their family...) I thought Origin was an Italian restaurant, but since its limited food choice while full selection of drinks, let's say, it a cafe...FYI waiters are English speaking
